We are always honored when another wedding industry professional asks us to plan a party for their business.   Last fall, we had the opportunity to work with Julie and the JS Design team to design and plan the 7th anniversary of their business and to celebrate the opening of their letterpress division, Cut & Press.  We have worked with JS Design Custom to design custom stationery for many of our weddings and social events over the past six years. For the party style, Julie wanted to create a vintage carnival in the courtyard outside of her studio.  We worked together to design the food - popcorn bar, vintage candy and desserts, fun cocktails, vintage sodas and a cupcake truck!  Julie designed and created all of the incredible stationery products you see in the party photos including the grab bag favors, letterpress invitations, custom bar stirs, cupcake flags, chalkboard signs, photo booth props, custom food containers and candy display signage.  The cold and rainy weather forced us to move the carnival inside but we still had a great time planning and hosting this incredibly fun celebration with Julie and her team.

Thank you to the wonderful vendors who helped us with the party:

JS Design Custom for designing and creating all the stationery products

Bella Fiori for the gorgeous vintage vases and flowers

Denver cupcake truck for the fabulous sweet treats

Kari Mclain for help with the photo booth

Autumn Burke Photography for sharing these outstanding party detail photos

Here is a sneak peak at one of the inspiration boards we created before we started designing the party:

In addition to weddings, we occasionally design parties for social celebrations such as birthdays.  My three year old daughter is obsessed with the game Angry Birds.  For her 3rd birthday, I did a simple Angry Birds themed party.  We ordered angry bird pins on Etsy for all the kids to wear at the party.  We also had the invitation designed on Etsy along with a digital collage sheet of angry bird faces.  I used various paper punches to create the angry bird circle accents.  We used red and white scrapbook paper for the place mats (I cut rounded corners).  The wood birdhouse was purchased at a craft store. I painted it red, added white feathers to the back and glued the angry bird face on the front.  We used mini bird nests with Jordan Almonds (the “eggs”) at each place setting for the kiddos.  I made custom party hats with scrapbook paper and added red feathers sticking out the top.  For the kid’s favors, we used small white gable boxes with 2 layers of ribbon and an angry bird circle embellishment on each side.  I purchased wood letters at the craft store for each child’s first initial. I painted those red and attached the letters to the gable boxes with red and white rope ribbon.  Each child had a custom favor inside the box, based on what they like (cartoons, cars, bubbles, etc).

I also ordered an Angry Birds custom t-shirt for the birthday girl.  She loved wearing it for her party!

The true star of the party (besides the birthday girl) was the INCREDIBLE cake totally designed and created by Intricate Icings. We gave them free reign on the design and could not have more thrilled with the cake!  My daughter was literally beside herself with excitement when she saw it.  The angry birds on the cake were actually cake pops which the kids could pull out and eat.

Thank you to Chris at Premium Digital Solutions for the fantastic photos.

Omni Interlocken Resort Wedding

We LOVED working with Erin, Jeff and their families over the past ten months to plan their Denver wedding for 350 guests at the Omni Interlocken Resort.   Erin wanted Tiffany blue as her main wedding color. She also liked sparkly details, crystals and rhinestones.  We had a custom monogram created that we used throughout many of the wedding elements starting with their aisle runner from Etsy.  The stunning ceremony floral and hanging crystal backdrop were created by the Perfect Petal.   The draping was done by John Quail, “The Drape Guy”.   Their custom monogram unity candle set and programs were created by fantastic Etsy designers.  Ceremony music was provided by Metropolitan Strings.  Hair and makeup for Erin and all of her bridesmaids was done by Leslie Arts.  Thank you to the incredibly talented Jenna Walker for sharing their gorgeous wedding images!

You can see Erin and Jeff’ wedding video on our blog along with the time lapse setup video for their reception.

Stay tuned for Erin & Jeff’s stunning wedding reception details next…

We had a fabulous time planning and designing Summer’s baby shower at the Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver. The host hired us in August, about ten days prior the shower. We created the overall event design, booked vendors and pulled together all the details. We chose a girlie, vintage-inspired theme with pink and silver as the main colors. We also incorporated a few chandelier elements and used feathers to soften the look. The incredible ruffled flowers from Bella Fiori included peonies, garden roses and ranunculus arrangements in white milk glass vases. Guests loved our “Milk and Cookie Bar” complete with whole milk, chocolate milk and strawberry milk. The pink baby shower cakes from Slice Cake Studio received rave reviews for their fabulous taste and designs. Chair Covers and Linens created a gorgeous room with pink crush table linens and pink satin bows over white chair covers.

Thank you to Premium Digital Solutions for the fabulous professional pictures.

Number of years in wedding industry: 3

Favorite Wedding Detail: It is a toss up between the cake and honoring guests who could not attend. I love coming up with a way to remember those who cant be with the couple in person but are there in spirit. Things like candles or flowers to represent those people are the touches that make a wedding personal and emotional! On the other hand who doesnt love cake!

Favorite Moment at Weddings: I like to watch the groom’s face as he sees the bride walk down the isle for the first time. It is such a cool moment you can truly see love!

Favorite Colorado Venues: I love Evergreen Lake House which is where i tied the knot. I also adore Della Terra and Boettcher Mansion.

Five words that describe me: funny, creative, energetic, determined, and ambidextrous (look that baby up!)

Five words that absolutely do not describe me: boring, selfish, uptight, shy, arrogant

My Starbucks order is: iced, soy chai , with no ice. This may seem contradictory but if you get no ice then you get more soy and chai to quench your thirst!

My Hobbies and Interests: tennis, hiking, cooking, traveling, and waterskiing

We are very excited to have Brynn join our team this year!
