Kerry and Blake were married last fall at the beautiful Evans Chapel on the DU Campus. Their reception was held at the historic Manor House in the Ken Caryl Valley. This couple couldn’t have been more pleasurable to work with, even though we spent most of our time on Skype since they were living in Germany during the planning period!

Kerry had the desire to be surrounded by soft, lush flowers, blush tones and simple textures. We worked with an amazing florist, Annie Aubert, to accomplish Kerry’s dreams for her wedding day. The chapel was draped in lovely pale flowers and soft candle light.

Their reception at the Manor House was filled with love and laughter - and even when the party was officially over, one of their friends hopped on the piano for a group choir session before their transportation arrived.

It was amazing to see the love this bride and groom had on their wedding day, and I will truly miss working with them!

Jessamyn and Erik were married this summer at the lovely Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado. Jessamyn and Erik are both active runners and wanted their wholesome lifestyle to truly shine on their wedding day. From the adorable garden flower pot centerpieces created by Hillside Consultants, to the fresh local foods at their reception cooked up by Footers Catering, they really accomplished that idea.

Erik’s mother baked and designed the cake herself, and did a fantastic job! Jessamyn’s father worked with Footers to pair amazing local wines and beers for the dinner, and every detail of the ceremony (officiated by the father of the bride) was incredibly special and heartfelt.

We had the privilege to design four distinct inspiration tables for the Denver ISES-NACE event last summer.  Not only did we get to showcase the styles we have always wanted to try, we spoke to 150 of our industry peers about our designs!  This modern green and white style is the first table we are sharing on our blog.

This table design is perfect for a couple who enjoys modern style with a clean color palette. This would be beautiful for a summer wedding.  It’s modern, clean and distinct.   It would also be fun to add a few pops of orange for a more whimsical feel. 2011 was an incredible year for all of us at Save the Date Events!  Here are a few highlights we’d like to share:

• We won a Knot Best of Weddings Award for 2011 and 2012 for being a top Colorado Wedding Planning Company.
• We successfully planned and designed more than 4o events across Colorado including weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties and baby showers.
• We attended more than 20 event industry networking events to keep in touch with our vendor contacts and establish new vendor connections.
• We continued our partnership with the Better Business Bureau as an accredited business with an “A” rating.
•  We entered our third year as an active member of the International Special Event Society.
• We were asked to be a preferred event planner on numerous preferred vendor lists at venues we worked at this year.
• We were published in the following magazines in 2011:  Knot Colorado, Colorado Weddings, Luxe Mountain Weddings, Rocky Mountain Bride, the Bump, and Confetti.  We were also featured online at Style Me Pretty, Mile High Bride and Half Baked Cake Blog.
• We won an ISES award for Best Wedding Over $50k for Erin and Jeff’s Tiffany Blue Wedding.
• We were an ICON award finalist for Best Wedding Under $75k for Sarah and Chris’ Old Hollywood Glam Wedding.
• We worked together with other StudioWed professionals to plan a very successful Second Annual Luxury Bridal Showcase at the Ritz Carlton in Denver.
• We planned and designed weddings in many of the mountain resort destinations in Colorado including Vail, Beaver Creek, Aspen, Crested Butte, Breckenridge, Keystone and Winter Park.
• We taught our first class on How to Become a Wedding Planner in Denver and launched the Planner’s Lounge, a resource site for event planners.

It was so much fun planning Carrie and Derek’s wedding!  We love their sense of humor and zest for life. Della Terra was the backdrop for this beautiful Colorado wedding.  The weather was absolutely perfect and Carrie and Derek said their vows at the beautiful outside ceremony location. Herb, better known as Herbie the Love Judge, kept the theme of humor running through the ceremony while imparting words of wisdom on this beautiful couple. The ceremony was set to music provide by Sure Thing Entertainment, the ring bearer pulled the flower girl in an adorable red wagon as Carrie prepared to walk down the aisle. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers on the deck at Della Terra.  Guests were invited into a beautiful ballroom with tables decorated in deep purple and brown satin linens. PlumSage brought the outside indoors with aspen birch centerpieces. We also brought nature inside by using pine cones as escort card holders. Guest enjoyed the most creative variety of action stations that I have ever seen at a wedding, from the “Brinner station” (breakfast for dinner), which had waffles on a stick and chocolate syrup, to the mac and cheese bar, guests enjoyed the tasty treats provided by Footers Catering.

The cake was equally unique, they had a cake that looked like an Aspen tree but was topped with a bride and groom gummy bear couple. Accompanying the wedding cake was a grooms cake that was a glass of Guinness that depicted the groom floating in the beer with his dog, Dbar desserts did an outstanding job on the cake designs. After dinner, it was time for dancing with Raising Cain Band. The guests worked up an appetite for the beautiful candy buffet provide by Pink Posey and a late night chocolate fountain. Lindsey and John had a beautiful rustic mountain wedding at Donovan Pavilion in Vail, Colorado. They incorporated a fall theme with plum and sage wedding colors. We had a great time working with Lindsey and John to plan and design their Vail wedding.   

I love intimate weddings! Katie and Jason invited their closest family and friends to the beautiful Park Hyatt Beaver Creek to share in their special day. Katie walked down the aisle to beautiful music created by Peek Performances, the ceremony was artfully performed by Gabrielle Woods of Mindful Marriage Consultants. Janine with Make up By Janine did an outstanding job making Katie look her best with some killer eyelashes! Plum Sage Flowers made Katie’s centerpiece vision become a reality and Jason+Gina Photography did a fabulous job documenting the day.

Katie always had her guests in mind when planning the wedding, from a wonderful meal and tasty candy bar to blankets in case they were cold.  The guests at this wedding were absolutely taken care of. After dinner, guest enjoyed a little pool in the billiards room at the Park Hyatt, it was the perfect end to a perfect day.
