Della Terra Mountain Chateau

Della Terra Mountain Chateau

Vail wedding at Donovan Pavilion
It isn’t often that we book weddings with only two weeks notice however both of our brides for this weekend contracted with us in the past few weeks. Debbie will coordinate the details for Sarah and Greg at the Donovan Pavilion on Friday. Gabby wrapped up the final planning and will work with Kristen to coordinate Shurie and Anthony’s gorgeous wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park on Saturday. We are thrilled to pull together the final details for both of these wonderful couples.

Working with Robin and Jason has been such a great experience! Robin is super adorable and Jason is hilarious. Their Labor Day Weekend wedding at the beautiful Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton had perfect weather, unique details and great friends and family! With beautiful flowers by the talented Dani Cammon of Bear Grass and makeup by Natosha Cooke of Aphrodite Affairs, they were picture perfect for Autumn Burke Photography.
We loved the simple and elegant chuppah from Artistic Arch & Chuppah Rental by Arc de Belle against the backdrop of those stunning red rocks.
The guests rocked out to music coordinated by A Music Plus and Chase N the Dream, and they had the dance floor packed! The adorable cake was provided by Das Meyer. And a huge thanks to the staff at Arrowhead, especially Kelly Haas!

I had the privilege of spending the day yesterday at fabulous blog workshop for wedding industry professionals in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Julie and I flew down for the day to learn from the best - Liene Stevens. We also met fantastic wedding professionals from across the country. We are excited to make our blog even better for our readers!
USA Today recently published a great article about the “right” age to marry. There are some interesting facts and advice. Here is the article.
Have I mentioned how much I love what I do? I mean REALLY love what I do? I can’t even venture a guess at how many hours I work in a week during the summer but you know what? It never seems like a job. If I could work 24 hours a day scouring magazines and websites for ideas for my clients, I would. My husband always jokes that he has to get me out of the house for me to actually stop working for a few hours. I’m always on the hunt for new venues, vendors, unique ideas and finding ways to improve the wedding planning experience for my clients. I love the business aspect as well. There are endless new ways to improve my website, my business and myself as a wedding planner.
On another note, I am thrilled to be done with all the invitations for the 2008 weddings. We have ordered, addressed, assembled, stamped and mailed more than 1000 invites in the past few months for our clients. The last batch went in the mail this morning and we are relieved!
June 2009. I think that must be the new 7.7.07 date. I have never had as many inquiries for a particular month as I have for next June. I am almost completely booked and Gabby is quickly booking up as well with more inquiries coming in each day. I think I’ll just work 24/7 that month. Luckily, all my clients for that month are wonderful and it is so helpful that we have a lot of time to plan fabulous events for each couple. Some of the weddings are full service planning including a few destination weddings. We also have a few wedding-day coordination events as well as 3 partial planning packages booked that month.
I can’t wait for my client’s wedding this weekend. They are such a sweet couple. We have fabulous vendors for the lovely church wedding followed by a traditional elegant wedding at Boettcher Mansion.
I had the honor of helping plan a vow renewal reception this past weekend. I loved every minute of working with this couple. After 10 years and 3 beautiful children, they renewed their vows in front of 35 family and friends in their backyard. We had an elegant reception with a pacific rim dinner buffet, beautiful linens and colorful florals. I haven’t cried at weddings for awhile but this was such a touching evening. I don’t think there was a dry eye anywhere.
It must be time for engagement season part two. December is always a popular engagement time but summer is also a busy time. I can’t believe how many inquiries I have received in the past week from newly engaged brides. What an exciting time for them. I love hearing the engagement story and their initial ideas and thoughts about their wedding.
We are booking quickly for Saturdays in June, July and August of 2009. If you are considering us for your wedding planning needs, call today to make sure your date is still available.
For those of you who want a 2008 wedding, there is still time!
I have fabulous clients this year. No doubt about it. I have enjoyed every minute of planning for this year’s weddings. I’m looking forward to all the traditional weddings as well as the unique events such as a Hindu wedding and an Aspen wedding. I’m always looking for great new vendors to work with and new ways to help my clients have their perfect wedding. I’m excited for wedding season to get started!
I’ve had many more inquiries lately about green weddings. Many brides and grooms are more environmentally conscious than ever before. Even if you aren’t worried about making your entire wedding green, here are a few more tips to help out the environment while planning your celebration:
• Consider having your ceremony at a location or venue that’s already dedicated to or interested in sustainability such as parks, protected areas, or museums.
• Use reusable dishware, utensils, napkins and tablecloths. If reusable durable food service items are not available, use recyclable food service items.
• Consider choosing something that you can wear again or opt to donate your apparel to a charity like the I Do Foundation, which is also a great resource for information on raising money charity through your wedding.
• Since gold and diamond mining can release toxins into the environment, consider silver, which is lower impact, or buy a vintage ring and have it resized.
• Send out save-the-date announcements and invitations by email. You may also want to create a website with details about your wedding, so you don’t have to print all of the information. Etiquette-wise, this makes me cringe but on the other hand, I love the idea of reducing paper and ink consumption.
There is so much information online to help you make environmentally conscious decisions while planning your wedding. As a wedding planner, I’m always researching ways to help my environmentally conscious clients.
Saturday’s downtown wedding was fabulous. The bride spent a lot of time choosing unique vases, candles, centerpieces, and many other Pottery Barn style decor for the wedding. She has great taste and it really showed throughout her wedding. There were a few glitches with extra guests showing up but the catering staff was outstanding and helped us make a few more quick place settings. The vendors really came through for this bride and groom. The bride had a lot of unique requests and needed a great team to make it all work. It was truly an elegant fall paradise when guests entered the reception.
This was my last wedding for a few months. I have a nice break to continue planning the 2008 weddings that I am working on and to get my office cleaned and re-organized!

Fall was the theme of yesterday’s wedding in Genesee. The weather was perfect for an outdoor evening wedding ceremony. The bride is such a sweetheart. I really enjoyed working with her in the past month. The guests had a great time, the food and catering staff were amazing and the DJ had the dance floor packed until the very end.
